You can make delicious homemade donuts with this quick and easy no yeast recipe. These old fashioned donuts with blood orange glaze are the perfect weekend treat!
I’m up waaayyy past my bedtime and have to be up at 5 am {!!!} to catch a flight out of town tomorrow. But I’ve been promising you all this recipe and I always keep my promises. I’m going to keep this post short and sweet because let’s face it….you’re really just here for the donuts.
So let’s chat about these donuts real quick. Curious…do you call them donuts or doughnuts? No matter. What does matter is that these goodies are perfectly crunchy on the outside and soft and cakey on the inside. Light and fluffy, golden brown perfection. Better than anything you’ll taste from your neighborhood bakery. These old fashioned donuts with a sweet, pink, blood orange glaze are quick and easy, oh-so-delicious, and they’re just what the weekend ordered.
These pretty as can be, citrus glazed donuts are made without yeast and require no special equipment to make. Just make the dough, chill, and fry the donuts up in your very own kitchen. You don’t even have to change out of your pj’s. If that’s not a selling point, I don’t know what is! There is nothing, and I mean nothing, better than a homemade donut. Warm from the fryer, old fashioned donuts are my absolute fave and trust me when I say these donuts are ridiculously delicious. Blood orange season won’t last forever and I promise you don’t want to miss out on these donuts. Whip up a dozen or two for the weekend and thank me later!

January 28, 2021 at 12:11 amDo you have to use peanut oil to fry the donuts or can I use canola oil instead?

January 28, 2021 at 9:49 pmCanola oil will work too. I chose peanut oil because it gives the donuts an ever so slightly nutty flavor that compliments the sweetness of the donuts.
